The Queensland Cultural Centre in Brisbane is a hub of museums and art galleries. It was established in 1974 by merging the existing Picture Gallery, Queensland Museum, Queensland Library, and Theatre Arts Centre. The Queensland Art Gallery, covering 4,700 square metres, is one of Australia's largest galleries and hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions of world-famous and contemporary artists. The Theatre Arts Centre, founded in 1985, includes Queensland's oldest Cremorne theater. The Queensland Museum, opened in 1986, has a total area of about 6,500 sq. ft. Visitors can see the work of local artists, including Indigenous arts and crafts, and an exhibition of artists from Asia and Oceania. #MuseumsinAustralia
